Glossary

Short definitions of Locimens product terms, written as answer blocks.

Glossary

These are the terms used across Locimens. Each heading is the term. The first sentence is the definition.

Agent

An agent is an AI-driven plugin that plans and calls tools. It reads your Mission and Tips, then uses MCP tools for the next step. You start, pause, stop, or wake it. An agent is not an order by itself, and Locimens is not a broker.

Bridge

The bridge, also called the MCP bridge, is the local HTTP service that exposes MCP tools to the desktop UI and to agents. It stays on your Windows machine. It is the path between the desktop and MetaTrader 5, not a cloud copy of your account.

Expert Advisor

An Expert Advisor (EA) is a MetaTrader program. Locimens mailbox EAs support handshake and live data between MetaTrader 5 and the desktop bridge. That mailbox file is the bridge file. It is not a closed trading robot you cannot inspect.

Entitlement

An entitlement is a cloud permission for a plan feature, a device, or a marketplace product. The desktop checks it before a licensed feature or product can run. It is not a trade instruction and not investment advice.

LLM gateway

The LLM gateway is the local service that holds provider API keys and proxies model calls. Keys stay on your machine. Agents call the gateway instead of embedding a provider key in a plugin.

Mailbox

The mailbox is the file and handshake channel between the Locimens EA and the desktop bridge. MetaTrader 5 writes and reads that local channel. It is how live data and handshake messages move, not a cloud inbox.

Marketplace

The marketplace is the catalog of agents and Expert Advisors on the web, and the install surface in the desktop. Browse a listing, then install the licensed product in the app. A listing page is not a running agent.

MCP

MCP is the Model Context Protocol, the tool interface agents use. Tools cover what the desktop already exposes, such as candles, positions, orders, watchers, and news. The model does not replace broker permissions or your plan entitlements.

Mission

A mission is the standing natural-language instructions for an agent. It is the goal the planner reads each cycle. It does not override Pause, Stop, or MetaTrader AutoTrading off.

Plugin

A plugin is an installable agent or tool bundle: a plugin.json plus its UI and backend. Marketplace products install as plugins. A plugin does not run until you start it and your entitlement allows it.

Tips

Tips are short persistent do and don't rules for an agent planner. They sit beside the Mission. They are operator rules, not a guarantee of how a model will behave.

Watcher

A watcher is an event trigger that can wake an agent or refresh context. It reacts to market or position events you configured. It does not place an order by itself.

Wake

Wake forces one immediate planning and execution cycle. Use it when you want the agent to run now instead of waiting for the next watcher. Stop and Pause still apply.
