Vs native MT5 MCP

How Locimens differs from MetaTrader 5's own MCP and AI Assistant. Locimens is not a broker and not investment advice.

Locimens vs native MT5 MCP

Locimens is not a replacement for MetaTrader 5, and it is not a broker. MetaTrader 5 can expose its own MCP and AI Assistant inside the terminal. Locimens is a local-first Windows desktop that connects licensed agents to your MT5 terminal through a local MCP bridge, with kill switch, caps, and visible tool calls. You keep the account at your broker. This is not investment advice.

Short answer

Use the terminal's own MCP if you want MetaQuotes' assistant inside MT5. Use Locimens if you want licensed marketplace agents, watchers, a desktop command center, and Telegram control, with execution still happening on your PC through your MT5 terminal.

MetaQuotes documents its terminal MCP in the MetaTrader 5 release notes. That page is theirs. This comparison only states the difference in job: terminal assistant versus a local agent desktop that talks to MT5.

What Locimens does not do

  • It does not replace MetaTrader 5
  • It does not hold your broker password for cloud execution. Credentials stay in local MT5
  • It does not promise fills, returns, or a strategy
