MT5 bridge overview
Locimens does not replace MetaTrader 5. It connects to a running MT5 terminal on the same PC through a local bridge and, for mailbox workflows, a Locimens Expert Advisor (EA).
Pieces
- MetaTrader 5 — logged into the account you want to monitor or automate
- Locimens desktop — hosts the UI and starts local services
- MCP bridge — exposes MT5 tools to agents and the UI
- Locimens EA — writes mailbox / handshake data when attached to a chart
What agents can do via tools
Depending on your plan and server build, tools may include:
- Account and symbol information
- Candles / history
- Positions and orders
- Economic calendar
- Watchers and mailbox-related operations
Broker rules (stops level, sessions, trading permissions) still apply.
Demo first
Use a demo account until EA attachment, tool health, and agent behavior look correct. Live trading requires an eligible plan and registered MT5 account limits.
