Locimens vs a black-box AI EA
A black-box AI Expert Advisor is a closed program you attach in MetaTrader 5. It can place trades without showing why. Locimens is not that, and it is not a broker. It is a local desktop where licensed agents propose and, if you allow it, execute through your MT5 terminal inside limits you can see: kill switch, position caps, and tool calls. You stay responsible for the account. This is not investment advice.
Short answer
Buy a black-box EA if you want a single closed robot and are willing not to inspect it. Use Locimens if you want agents you can watch, stop, and limit, with the trading terminal still on your PC.
Comparison
| Black-box AI EA | Locimens | |
|---|---|---|
| What you install | A closed EA in MT5 | Locimens desktop, plus a mailbox EA when you need the bridge |
| Decision path | Hidden in the EA | Agents call tools. Those calls are visible in the app |
| Stop control | Remove the EA, or whatever the author exposed | Kill switch and risk caps in Locimens, plus your MT5 and broker rules |
| Account | Your broker, in MT5 | Your broker, in MT5. Locimens does not custody funds |
| Updates | Whatever the seller ships | Licensed agents and plugins, versioned through the Locimens marketplace |
| LLM | Usually none you control | Bring your own LLM, or a Locimens LLM on eligible plans |
| Advice | A closed robot is not a fiduciary | Locimens is not investment, financial, legal, or tax advice |
Locimens also sells a mailbox Expert Advisor. That EA is the bridge file, not a hidden trading brain. Agents and limits live in the desktop.
